Stolen Lives Induction Ceremony 2020

virtual event

The Stolen Lives Induction Ceremony is a solemn, yet empowering occasion at which recent and past victims of police killings are formally inducted into the roster of the Stolen Lives Project, a national grassroots documentation of people killed by U.S. law enforcement from 1990 to the present. The ceremony is both an affirmation of life and a call to action. It allows the Stolen Life, demonized by the powers-that-be, to be remembered the way they SHOULD be remembered: by those who love them – and for that truth to be shared with all those in attendance. In the midst of and inspired by the current uprisings across the country against police violence, the likes of which we have never seen since the Stolen Lives Project began almost a quarter century ago, we are planning a Stolen Lives Induction Ceremony for December 5, 2020. Both in consideration of and in taking advantage of current safety precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the first induction ceremony to take place entirely online and, therefore, participants will not be limited only to those who could physically be in the NYC area. Those who would like to participate, help build for the event, or contribute in any way, visit the website at http://stolenlives.org and/or contact Kathie at stolenlivesprojectonline@gmail.com. Families of those killed by law enforcement, please contact Juanita Young at 646-294-8344.
